Orthopaedic Surgeons require you have a valid referral. You will need to present your referral, if not already sent, a current medicare card and private health details. New and review consults will incur an out of pocket expense.
Many Paediatric and Adult Shoulder, Upper Extremity and Knee conditions are treated in public and private settings. Dr Drynan may indicate some paediatric pathology may benefit from a large public hospital input, please call to arrange what is better for your care.

Dr Drynan is a Visiting Medical Officer at The Children's Hospital Westmead with a subspecialty focus on shoulder and elbow conditions. He works in a highly dynamic and excellent department. Here he works closely with the University of Sydney Medical School, lectures medical students and assists in training of current Registrars and Fellows.
Dr Drynan is a Locum Orthopaedic surgeon at Westmead Adults Hospital. Dr Drynan is part of the exciting department at Westmead and is involved with the registrar training and teaching and medical student education and other clinical improvement projects.

Dr Drynan has obtained advanced training in shoulder, elbow, hand and knee conditions. Rehabilitation is highly recommended for certain procedures. This may not just mean formal physiotherapy, but self directed rehabilitation and exercises. It involves unstinting your condition, surgery, pain control and goals. Rehabilitation often requires a team, centred around you, the patient, Dr Drynan can help coordinate that team to optimise your outcomes.

Dr David Drynan is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who has undertaken further advanced training regarding shoulder, elbow, hand and knee pathology. He treats a wide array of upper extremity conditions and knee conditions. He has special interests in shoulder instability and arthritis, elbow arthritis and trauma and sports knee conditions.
